Paul is actually based on a dude I knew in real life but don't much associate with anymore. He always looks like he's smiling no matter what and he's exceptionally well-read like Pat, so I figured I'd throw him into a comic he'd never see.

Why a bus? Seemed like the way to go at the time, I suppose.
